Viscri - Ultimate Relaxation at Viscri125:
Viscri, a picturesque village in Transylvania, an Unesco World Heritage, that holds a special place in my heart. During our visits, we always choose to stay at Viscri125, a charming guesthouse that embodies tranquility and treasures the Transylvanian Heritage. The beauty of this place lies in the simplicity. Here, I can unwind and let go of all worries. It often happens that I drink my coffee until lunch time, just doing nothing because I simply have no worries: the kids play outside, the lunch is being prepared and it’s always amazing. One of the highlights is the incredible dishes prepared by Vio, the talented chef and soul of Viscri125. She is, for sure, one of the main reasons we come back to Viscri every year for 10 years.
Coltesti and Rimetea - A Captivating Blend of Hospitality and Scenic Beauty:
Colțești and Rimetea are two enchanting villages that continue to captivate us. Rimetea, another Unesco World Heritage Site is just a 40 minutes walk away from Colțești or just a short bike ride away. Our preferred accommodation in Colțești is Conacul Secuiesc, where we are greeted with warm hospitality and treated to stunning views from the backyard. One person who stands out is Tibi, who goes above and beyond to ensure our stay feels like a VIP experience. It is a testament to the fact that the heart and warmth of the people make a place truly memorable. Exploring the nature and picturesque surroundings adds to the charm of these villages, creating cherished family memories.
Izvoare and Madaras - Tranquility and Adventure in Perfect Harmony:
Nestled in the beautiful village of Izvoare, we discovered a hidden gem of a house that offers a serene retreat. Surrounded by two rivers, this secluded place provides the perfect soundtrack for relaxation. During spring, summer, and autumn, the area comes alive with endless opportunities for exploration. From leisurely walks in the nearby woods to visiting attractions like Mini Transylvania, Galeria Portilor Secuiesti, and Zetea Lake, there's something for everyone. During winter, it becomes a haven for ski enthusiasts, with a short 30-minute drive to Mădăraș, a charming ski resort that remains pleasantly uncrowded compared to other destinations in Romania.
